The Ramadan food packs project was an initiative by Himmah, GAIN Diaspora, Nottingham City Council, Mojatu Foundation, Hyson Green Youth Club, ACNA Centre, FYA Nottingham Equal and FMB Radio. The project's primary goal was to serve hot meals to families in Nottingham's African Diaspora community during Ramadan. Every Friday during Ramadan, hot meals were provided. The meals offered were from various African backgrounds, and each week, different African kitchens, such as the Sudanese Kitchen, Gambian Kitchen, and Afro Caribbean Kitchen, offered their support. The food packs included bread, fruits, dates, and hot meals that included a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes like lamb, jollof, chicken biryani, vegetable biryani, and vegetable soup. Over 450 meals were pre-packaged and distributed to over 200 families. The packing of the food was done at Hyson Green Youth Club and The Mojatu offices with the help of packing volunteers, who made sure all the packs included hot meals, fruits, dates, soup, and water. A committed group of volunteers drove to the homes of the families to deliver the meals between 6 and 8 o'clock in the evening, ensuring that the families had food in time for Iftar.
